Limited English Proficiency

UNM departments must take reasonable steps to ensure that individuals with limited English proficiency (LEP) have meaningful access to their programs and activities. Meaningful access is language assistance that is accurate, timely, and effective and is available at no cost to the LEP Individual. More information about LEP policy can be found in UAP 2720.

GLOBO is the UNM-approved vendor for translation and interpretation services. Departments should contact CEEO to be connected with the GLOBO representative so they can assist in creating an account for your area. Departments are responsible for costs associated with using this service. 

Technical questions about the application of Title VI and LEP should be routed to your supervisory chain. However, CEEO can assist you with connecting you to the GLOBO service.
